Anthony Gets Murder Suspect Released!

Murder suspect posts bond: 19-year-old to wearGPS unit as police investigation continues
ELYRIA — A murder suspect in the Feb. 3 shooting of 34-year-old Christopher Lundberg has been released from the Lorain County Jail on a $50,000 bond.

Andrew Lorenzana, 19, of Lorain, posted bond on Wednesday after prosecutors agreed to lower the amount from $1 million to $50,000 on condition that he waive time provision, giving police more time to investigate the shooting. Prosecutors made the same arrangement for codefendant Avery Taylor, 19, of Elyria, who had not made bond as of last night.

A condition of the agreement was that both men, who are charged with murder, wear and pay for GPS monitoring units while out on bond.

Lorenzana’s attorney, J. Anthony Rich, said he thought the agreement was fair.

Police say the murder was the result of a drug deal gone bad. Lundberg was shot once around 1:30 a.m. Feb. 3 in the area of West 29th Street and Ashland Avenue in Lorain after another man drove him to that area to purchase crack cocaine. That man took Lundberg to Community Regional Medical Center after the shooting.
